QR Codes and Smartphones

What are those funny looking square things you see on some print advertising?  They are called QR Codes and they serve a very specific purpose:  A smartphone can scan the code - which is like a bar code- and your website URL (address) is embedded in the code - which will take the person directly to your website.

Every QR code is obviously unique, but there are two different kinds of codes, both of which are free to create:

Static QR Code

The QR code points to the same URL all the time; the only way to change where it points is to create a new code.

Dynamic QR Code

If you want to change where the QR Code directs someone you can - every day if you wanted to.  One day it can point to your website, another day it can point to your facebook page etc.  Clearly a Dynamic Code is better.

Sometimes the best way to make money is to give away some free advice on your website and with social media sitesProfessional are sometimes leery about giving away advice for free. The "free consult" offered by some professionals is sometimes only a sales pitch, which is exactly what it should not be. A free consult is an opportunity for you to show off how much you know about your practice area, provide a potential client with answers to at least their more pressing concerns, and begin a relationship that will hopefully transition into one in which you are hired. The truth is, most of the work we do as professionals is too complicated to be done by someone simply because they got some free advice. Your advice will showcase your knowledge, which will reinforce the complexity of your practice, and therefore encourage potential clients to seek out your services.
